| So I pretty much saw the raddest show in the world, and the most raw talent my body could handle on Tuesday. It was none other than my favorite band, The Mars Volta. Probably the most original, awe inspiring groups this century will have. So anyway, if you'd care to, check this video out: Watch! That's the beginning of their set and the singer goes crazy and almost starts a fight with the camera guy! It was sweet. My second favorite act would have to be Rodrigo y Gabriella from Mexico city. A phenomenal classical guitarist duo that put on a great show. Here they are, sound quality's not too great Watch! | | |

| Mark 3:31-35 And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, "Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you. And he answered them, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother."
I was thinking about this passage and about the two different ways you can look at it. Are we to interpret it as "You do the will of God, therefore you are a child of Him" or "You are a child of God, therefore you do His will."? Is salvation something we achieve by doing the will of God, or is it a wonderful gift from heaven that upon receiving we respond with gratefulness and enjoy the blessings that being a part of God's plan for His creations redemption brings? Often times I feel horrible for being such an ungrateful person. I end up just feeling guilty about how sinful and rebellious I am towards my Father in Heaven and praying for Him to fix me so I don't have to feel so bad. Only when I get over myself and listen to God's voice, and remember the love that's claimed me as a child, remember how IN love I am with my Savior and begin to see everything as God's creation that is to be loved and cared for (I know, crazy idea right?) Only when I am genuinely thankful for the gifts I have received do I begin to enjoy life and actually glorify God. This is all scattered, but I guess my point is that salvation isn't something you can earn or "feed" to yourself. It's something that we all freely receive from God. It's a wonderful experience when it does happen, makes me wonder why I continue to do the whole sinning thing. Anyway, salvation is a gift! Receive it, experience it and enjoy it!
| There's a place where "religion" finally dies. There's a place where I lose my selfish pride.

| In the story, "you" is me.
BTW, I had this dream last night that we were all sitting around talking about who of us knew real pain, and you were like, "I do," and someone else asked, "Yeah? What have you ever lost?" and you were like, "An ARM AND A LEG!!" and people were still disrespecting you so you went outside and you were going to cut off your arm and leg again with a saw (in the dream it was like you had done it before and they grew back...or were sewn back on or something) and I was screaming at you not to do it, and finally I got other people to pay attention and get you before you did it, and I was like, "See, you guys? You should have taken him seriously!!" Weird. Anyway, it's kinda funny now and hope you don't mind the mild gore. Have a nice day!
